Welcome!
My staff and I believe our job as a childcare Provider is to support the role of the parent. My staff and I will strive to enhance the physical, emotional and cognitive growth of every child. My staff and I use only positive methods of child guidance. We are a play based and nature based childcare. Where children learn to play, and play to learn.
We at Tiny Toes Childcare, believe that a great caregiver gives love, laughs, engages, respects each child’s individuality, and provides a clean and safe environment. Each child’s social, physical, and emotional development, along with their safety, and happiness are our top priorities. We are committed to each child’s care and early education.
Tiny toes childcare is committed to building a welcoming community that supports the inclusion of all children, families, and staff. We believe that all children have the right to equitable learning opportunities and access to our physical space, materials, curriculum and teaching practices. Therefore, we welcome, value, celebrate, and respect individuals of all races, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, and religion.
My teaching philosophy as a family childcare provider is to provide a home away from home. We are a play-based, nature-based program with an emergent curriculum that reflects interests, home experiences and outside activities but is grounded in developmental objectives. These objectives are based on the guidelines of the current infant and toddler MELDS or P-MELDS.
We offer a play-based approach that is implemented with positive influences and builds a strong sense of community in the classroom by capitalizing on teachable moments. We build onto our curriculum through environmental design, materials we use, our schedule, assessments, and our own program evaluations.
Keeping our theme of nature, our environments are branched from indoors to outside. Utilizing natural materials as much as possible. We offer a hands-on approach to learning. We believe that a child learns best when they are able to engage in activities with all of their senses. Sight, smell, taste, hearing and most of all, touch. Children naturally learn about their senses but engaging them in a structured way can help them develop and interact with the world.
Our professional responsibility is to plan and implement intentional, developmentally appropriate (DAP) learning experiences that promote the social and emotional development, physical development, and health, cognitive development, and general learning competencies of each child served in our program.
